Seeing what the Dentist Sees
Intraoral cameras (within the mouth) are cameras designed to be a sterile way to get very close-up pictures of the teeth and surrounding tissues. Since we installed our network of video monitors in 1994, what benefits have our patients realized?
Patients can see what we see either on monitors or as a printed picture.
Better and more thorough diagnosis since images are magnified to 35 times normal.
Consultations with specialists can be done without our patients having to spend time for an extra appointment.
Fewer insurance problems when we submit a picture.
Our patients are reimbursed faster.
Our patients can become actively involved in the type of treatment they receive when they are able to see what we see.
Could we practice without an intraoral camera? Maybe. Would we?
Never.
