You don't need to be afraid of damaging your veneers by either flossing or brushing, Just follow your hygiene routine as you normally would. We would recommend using a non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste. Protecting your oral health with a good home care regimen and regular dental check-ups will ensure the longevity of your restorations
If you grind or clench your teeth at night, please let Dr. Bjorklund know. He will be able to fabricate a protective bite guard for you to wear to minimize the stress placed on your teeth while you sleep. This will not only protect your veneers from chipping or cracking but protect the rest of your teeth from wear and tear.
To place the thin laminate of the veneers over your teeth, a small layer of enamel is removed first. This keeps the veneers from becoming too bulky. Because of this necessary preparation, veneers are considered to be irreversible. Once the laminates have adhered to the prepared surface, your new smile is permanent.
